Innovative solutions in plastics machinery

Niedernberg, 04.10.2023. No standardisation of plant components, but custom-fit compounding and pelletizing systems for the customer: This is what characterises the successful company history of ips Intelligent Pelletizing Solutions GmbH in Niedernberg near Aschaffenburg, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary these days. In its anniversary video, ips lets you experience in just a few minutes what makes the familyrun company so special.

ips was founded in 1998 by Gerald Weis, Germany's only owner-managed mechanical engineering company in the field of pelletizing and compounding technology. Together with his sons Julian and Simon Weis, the company founder has developed ips into an innovative and renowned brand that stands for exemplary quality in German plastics machinery manufacturing.

"Building machines that are unreservedly tailored to the needs of the customers, especially the users" was the main motivation for Gerald Weis, managing partner, to set up his own company. "Before we design a system, we deal intensively with the ideas, wishes and requirements of our customers and, above all, the users, and incorporate them into the machine. Almost every machine that leaves our premises is unique."

More than 1,500 ips units sold worldwide

ips is the innovative further development of a manufactory with a broad product portfolio in pelletizing and compounding technology - both for strand pelletizing systems and underwater pelletizing. "Our systems are designed in particular for the compounding, masterbatch and polymer industries and are increasingly used in the plastics recycling sector," says ips Managing Director Julian Weis. "We operate directly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and throughout Europe via our sales partners. In addition, we deliver our plants worldwide via so-called OEMs and are thus represented with ips machines on all continents of the world." More than 1,500 ips machines have been commissioned to date.

And the development continues. "With plants for the production of long-fibre-reinforced thermoplastics (LFT) and co-rotating twin-screw extruders, we have once again significantly expanded our product range in the past three years," explains Managing Director Simon Weis. With the LFT line developed in-house, high-quality long-fibre-reinforced thermoplastics can be produced by pultrusion or extrusion. Due to their considerably higher impact strength, significantly higher strength as well as excellent stiffness with less material input, they offer a wide range of processing and design possibilities, especially for material and structural lightweight construction. In addition, the machine manufacturer from Lower Franconia added a co-rotating twin-screw extruder to its product portfolio at the end of last year. This means that they now also offer complete solutions for compounding tasks and recycling applications from a single source.

In the company's own technical centre, customers can experience ips systems live and find solutions tailored to their needs, whether in terms of materials, interfaces or space. "All re-quirements are taken into account by us and implemented in a customer-oriented manner," says Simon Weis.

Show success. Experience quality.

"With our anniversary video, we provide insight into our corporate philosophy, our claim and our values," Gerald Weis introduces the video. "We show our service portfolio as well as the quality factors that distinguish us." In the process, one not only experiences the highest level of professionalism, a maximum of technological know-how and equipment, but above all the future orientation of the company and the ips team spirit. Regional supply chains coupled with global networking are the keys to the company's continued success. The plastics sector is changing and ips is helping to shape it - as a team and as a family.
